Magic Frogs and More!
I was in Las Vegas this week (Because I just don't get enough of VEGA$! Seriously… who does?!) working on the upcoming SGMA Team Sports and Sports Licensing Show - checking out the hotel options, walking the Sands Expo hall and lobby and looking for some cool places to have a party! Some of my travel pals (that’s Lindsay and Aly from Surf Expo, Dan and Jill who work on both shows) suggested we go over to the Wynn Resort to see this really crazy show on their "Lake of Dreams". The lake is located outside a little patio bar called "Parasol Down". All I can say is “WOW”… This has to be the coolest “free” show in Vegas that you may not know about. I have been traveling to this town for 20 years… seen the pirate ship, the volcano, the tigers, the dancing fountains… even the animatronic statues at Caesars… but none compare to this. We counted at least six different three-minute shows that occur every half-hour each night. Of the most “trippy” is set to the tune “Oh Yeah” by Yello where a giant 24 foot head rises from the water and faces of all sort are morphed in rhythm to the song. Another Yello tune, “Jungle Bill”, sets the theme of a different show where giant snakes slither by projection onto the waterfall and 45 foot tall tribal puppets dance over the undulating and pulsating lake. Incredible! The crowd favorite by far was the colossal frog (at least 30 feet tall!) that serenaded us with “Low Rider”. Simply amazing! The images below (borrowed from some folks from the ‘net – hope y'all don’t mind, fellow blog buddies) don’t do justice. You’ll just have to come to the SGMA Team Sports and Sports Licensing Show in June then head over to the Wynn one night and join us for a cocktail and some fun!
See you in June!!!
