C'mon in... The Sand is Fine!
When I was in Las Vegas a couple of weeks back – visiting The Frog – Dan Darby, our Director of Marketing, and I were discussing the whole Vegas “Experience”. How many hotel rooms are there? Can they really fill all those rooms? How many conventions does the city host and how many attendees are there? Well here are some “Fun Facts” about this place:
- Visitors annually to LV – over 39,000,000
- Tourism economic impact - $39 billion
- Average gambling budget per person - $652
- Hotel rooms in LV – 133,000 (and growing by the day)
- Total enplanements to and from McCarran Intl. Airport – 46,193,329 people
- Weekday hotel occupancy in LV – 87.6%
- Weekend hotel occupancy in LV – 94.6%
- US national average hotel occupancy – 63.4%
Wow... So Las Vegas beats the national average in occupancy? So they do fill up most of those rooms Dan!
Now some specifics on trade shows and conventions in Las Vegas:
- Conventions per year – 23,825
- Conventioneers per year – 6,307,961
With the upcoming SGMA Team Sports and Sports Licensing Show, held at the Sands Expo June 9th - 11th, I suppose we need to change that number to 23,826! And that conventioneer number needs some adjusting as well. Click on that Retailer button and register today! What’s one, maybe two, three more – or even one thousand more – attendees? The more the merrier! This town can hold 'em and the sand is fine!
Thanks to www.LVCVA.com (the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority) for the Fun Facts!
See you in June!
